I am Dan, living in Tokyo and thinking about getting an Nokia N95 so that I can use Qik. But the Qik people told me that Qik can be used in Japan only if the phone is unlocked and they gave me your URL (http://qik.com/video/51564) because you are in Japan. Could you please help me... What kind of cell phone are you using, and how did you unlock it? Also what carrier are you using in Japan.
The reason I'm interested is because I want to use Qik as a supplement to my podcast at http://www.whitokyo.info.
I am using an N82 and got my phone already unlocked (not operaotr branded), and use it with a Softbank SIM card. It is possible to buy them unlocked in Akihabara, alternatively you can buy them from abroad and get them sent here.
